Ok, I am not going to suggest that anyone watch an 80 minute video to see what Google Wave is all about so I am using this video (It’s only 8 minutes long). Spend 8 minutes and you will get a pretty good idea of what Google Wave is all about. I see a lot of potential in this web app and think it will be an excellent group project tool.

Once this app goes mainstream things are really going to get good. Google’s choice to make it open source is going to really drive third party developers.

It’s Google for pete’s sake. They’re like internet gold.

Google Voice Invites are difficult to get. But US Military Personnel can get priority Google Voice invites thanks to a new initiative by Google to help them communicate with family and friends.

The most important requirement is that you need a .mil email address, which is proof of being in the US military. Secondly it is necessary to be in the US and have a US phone to sign up for Google Voice. Request an invite at the special military page and Google promises to send you a Google voice invite in 1-2 days. For rest of us, there is the usual Google invite request page.

Google Voice gives you a unique single phone number for all your phones, voicemail becomes as easy as email, and many calling features are free. This video will give you a better idea of how useful your Google number is.

So far, I am not impressed with Google Voice. I understand this is a new service and that this is bascically still in beta but it’s just not what I have come to expect from Google. Don’t get me wrong. I love Google! They make some nice stuff and I use most of them. It’s just that some of the basic features are still in alpha as far as I am concerned. If anything, it helps keep all your medications in order as well as keeping a record of what you have taken in the not to recent past. I would much rather see a list like this when I arrive on scene than a post-it!

Do yourself a favor and read the advantages you can get with Google Health below and I think you might see a couple of reasons to use it. You sure can’t beat the price!
